Welcome back to another episode of It's Okay to be Spiritual. I'm Helen, and Lori is finding the topic for today's episode. Well, there it is. Do you think you know your sole purpose for this lifetime? Oh my God, we talked about this over lunch and decided it was too hard to answer.

[00:00:43.880] - Lori
We didn't pull it out of the deck. That's on us.

[00:00:52.350] - Helen
All right, let's see if we left ourselves any clues.

[00:00:57.960] - Lori
Okay, actually, yeah, I did write some notes on this So I think, let's go back to how you find your sole purpose, which is really challenging, right? We were having this discussion, how do you find it? And I can't even remember how I found mine because I was relaying how I found mine, because I feel like I finally found it. It took me, I think, 40 years. And I don't, I did nothing wrong in those 40 years. That was just my journey to the point where I was ready to step into the next phase. And that phase involved this element of lifestyle, being more spiritual. In doing that, I found my natural intuitive gifts, and they involved some element of psychic and medium chip abilities and energy moving, healing, being a channel for people to release stuck emotions and being able to help them find those emotions. That is one part of it. But my actual, and what I've been told also, you can also circumnavigate this. Ask a psychic or a medium what you're here to do. True. Let's not make it hard.

[00:02:05.580] - Helen
Yeah, that's right. This isn't easy. Just go see Lori.

[00:02:08.780] - Lori
I mean, look, I can help you look at what you're doing and where you're going. But I had someone say to me, you're here to help people wake up. You're here to support people at the start of their journey because your journey has been so rapid and so energetic, and you've got so much that was compacted into such a short time that you can help other people navigate that through your experience in the intensity that it was. That has led me to find my sole purpose by stepping into the energy work and the card reading and those other abilities. But it's all coming back to being able to help empower other people. This podcast, I would call it, is part of my sole purpose.

[00:02:53.620] - Helen
I think, too, we're both meant to speak. Yes. I've always been told I'm a teacher. Some people would just take one look at me and go, Oh, you're a teacher. Then they'd walk off and I'm like, Great. What am I meant to teach? More? It's interesting you're saying it was all compact it in for you, whereas we've talked about this when we've talked about Dark Night of the Soul, and my journey was long and arduous. But in that process, I developed a really deep understanding. I think I said to you over lunch, I got the PhD I always wanted It just wasn't an academic one. That gives me a really great ability to explain really deep spiritual concepts with great simplicity. Agree. Isn't that amazing?

[00:03:44.450] - Lori
Isn't it funny how you find it through your life experience? If you pull up my report cards from primary school- Oh, this would be interesting. They would say, Talks too much in class, does not stop talking, My mother will say, You did not shut up as a child. My youngest is very much like me. I've been told she will be a singer at some point, or that will be a part of her journey. She will use her voice to sing. I was only laughing about this the other day, that jokes on them because I am going to talk now. I found that ability was there, but you just don't realise at the time where it could take you.

[00:04:26.930] - Helen
My family calling me Little Miss Bossy Boots was prophetic.

[00:04:31.220] - Lori
Yeah, well, yeah. Telling people how to, teaching people how to do it. You've got to have that level of confidence to be a teacher, right?

[00:04:39.810] - Helen
But that actually, I have been bossy in my life when I didn't know who I was and what my purpose was. It's like you always are trying to reach for your purpose, but when you don't have your connexion to source, it's going to come out in the wrong way.

[00:04:58.450] - Lori
Yeah, I 100 I then agree with that. I definitely would get into a lot of conflicts in my early 20s, just housemates at work. I think I was very mouthy and I was obviously making up. Don't laugh. It's like the first time we've realised this. I can't not laugh. We know this. But I just wanted to use my voice, but I didn't know how to use it. I wasn't working in a job where I was able to use my voice because I was a graduate in my field. That's where I was meant to sit. But I was almost overcompensating for not being able to speak and not being able to use it. But then I applied it into running social events at Uni, which we've both spoken about. We were both social coordinators. We both love gathering people, gathering- We ran the parties. Yeah, we organised the parties, we organised the logistics, we gave people jobs.

[00:05:54.210] - Helen
We've talked about the lifestyle changes we've undergone, but that skill has stuck with us, and now we just naturally connect people.

[00:06:01.230] - Lori
Yes.

[00:06:02.270] - Helen
Build networks wherever we go.

[00:06:04.520] - Lori
Hopefully that there's more opportunities for us to work together in a building more community. When you're trying to find your sole purpose, what have you done in your life? What do you always go back to?

[00:06:17.580] - Helen
What comes naturally? If you look at your bookshelf, I'm a reader, we know that I'm a reader, but if you look at your bookshelf, what topic is it just overwhelmingly all about?

[00:06:28.860] - Lori
Yeah, Or mine would be, what are you doing a lot of? My kids will start at school and I'm instantly wanting to do catch-ups for all the mums to have dinner together to get to know each other, or volunteering in the classroom where I can sit with kids and where they're learning to do games or I'm interacting with people and just sharing that energetic space with a bigger group and being part of facilitating that.

[00:06:56.380] - Helen
I think, too, though, with soul purpose, there comes a An egoic part of this is putting pressure... Sorry, I'm not saying it the right way. What I'm trying to say is if you're putting pressure on yourself to know your soul purpose, then you're in an egoic state of mind. You're trying to reach for this ideal version of yourself that's not actually true to who you really are, because who you really are is free of ideals. It's beyond ideals. It's bigger than ideals. So when When we are desperate to know our sole purpose, that's when we need to let it go.

[00:07:35.970] - Lori
Yeah, that's a really good point because people do get, or maybe you're on the cusp of a trigger. Maybe there's something happening in your life that's trying to push you and it's making you want to realise what your sole purpose is, but you just need to let it go because it's going to unfold.

[00:07:52.420] - Helen
Yeah. As soon as you connect to your true self, the sole purpose just naturally begins to express itself because it can't not. It's your true self.

[00:08:01.970] - Lori
Yeah. It's amazing, right? When you find it.

[00:08:05.350] - Helen
Yeah, it's super fun.

[00:08:06.410] - Lori
Some people can live their entire life and not find their sole purpose.

[00:08:11.540] - Helen
Maybe. I suppose you got to have an interest in finding your sole purpose.

[00:08:14.700] - Lori
Yeah. I mean, you can just chip along. There's plenty of people who are close to retirement in jobs that they were… This is just the job I've always done, and this is what I'm always doing. They didn't have that- Pays the bills.

[00:08:25.600] - Helen
Yeah, they didn't- Puts food on the table.

[00:08:27.460] - Lori
You have commitments, and it's like, I had to feed a family, or I had to pay off this or I wanted to do this. You've just always done that, but maybe it didn't bring you as much joy as what your sole purpose would have. But that's also your choice in this lifetime in your sole contract. But the minute you start to look beyond that is when the magic really opens up.

[00:08:47.320] - Helen
It really is. It will unfold naturally. This is a bit like the karma topic. We concluded that one with, let it go, just expand love.

[00:08:58.780] - Lori
Hopefully that's helpful. Yes.

[00:10:16.640] - Helen
Is there anything else you want to add about Sole Purpose?

[00:10:19.370] - Lori
No, I don't, but we did have more than one card jump out here. Let's take a look. So should we have a look at what's under this? All right. Are you into astrology and why does it matter?

[00:10:32.120] - Helen
Okay, so I'll just exit from this episode. This is all about Lori, because I'm actually not that into astrology.

[00:10:39.670] - Lori
I mean, I am, but I don't know a lot about it. I know enough to keep myself out of trouble.

[00:10:47.490] - Helen
Or get yourself into trouble.

[00:10:48.880] - Lori
Get myself into trouble.

[00:10:50.320] - Helen
I want to link this back, though, to the... We were just talking about soul purpose. If astrology is your sole purpose, I would imagine, okay, I would imagine if astrology was my sole purpose, I just wouldn't be able to consume enough about astrology. I'd have books about it, of course. I'd have books about it. I'd be watching interviews with astrologists. I would be learning the techniques and how to read the charts, and I would be reading other people's charts, and I would be trying to find out where they were born and what time and what their name was. It just comes naturally because you've got this fever of interest in the topic.

[00:11:32.770] - Lori
Yeah, I would absolutely agree with that. I like astrology just because it explains energies and what's going on and the different star signs If you're in a certain transit, you could be being triggered in communication or finding your purpose or working with relationships. When Venus does things, it's heightening all the relationship things and the retrogrades, obviously a retrospective, stopping, reviewing, having a look at what's going on. You can get a general gist. I will go to, there's a website called Astro Twins. It's online. I think they're for one of the magazines, but now it's online. You go there and they will give you a weekly, a monthly, and a yearly update. You don't have to know anything. They've interpreted it all for you and they go through. I don't do weekly because I find it... I mean, if it's intense, I'll look at the weekly astrology. But I go through at the start of every month and just cheat sheet. I just put in my phone on the days they say, Gemini is going to be doing this on this day, and I sometimes send them to you. I'm like, Today is not a good day for us.

[00:12:44.890] - Lori
Like,. It's like, Lalo, it's not good. Do not leave the house today. But I also don't want to preempt a bad day. But if stuff's going on, like last week when stuff was going on for me, I'm like, Oh, what's going on? Like, Oh, this makes so much sense now. I will cheat sheet and I will look at the Astrology on Astro Twins for the month, and then I will have a look at the dates they list, and I will just plug those into my phone so when they pop up.

[00:13:09.050] - Helen
In relation to speaking about your sole purpose, your Astrology chart is a bit of a heads up on what your soul purpose was, too. The best person I liked who talked about this was Gina Lake in that book, Cycles of the Soul. She talks about exactly that. Take a look at your Well, she doesn't talk about soul. I mean, she does talk about soul purpose, but that book is about karma and soul purpose. We said, what's the difference? She says, read your astrology chart with a fairly open, like a high-level read, I guess, not a day-to-day read, and that will reveal to you your intentions for this lifetime and the agreements or the things you wanted to get out of this lifetime for your karmic journey, your soul's purpose.

[00:14:05.020] - Lori
Yeah, I agree. I would love... Actually, if you're an astrolog listening to this, get in touch because I have so many questions and I'd love to pick your brain and show your expertise on this. But I definitely know something would have unfolded for me in my chart in early 2023. Next year, Gemini has a very successful career progression. There's lots of energy behind career and being seen in your career, which is what I was dealing with last week. You know that need to be seen. This is exciting. It's exciting. We now should be planting the seeds for that journey. We've got the heads up on the astrology, the career pathway for Geminis is very lucky next year. We now will be planting seeds because we have that heads up. But we're doing that anyway because we are quite sensitive to the energies and we feel them. When you're in alignment, it just happens naturally. But then when you get it backed up with the astrology, it feels good. You feel in alignment.

[00:15:05.920] - Helen
Another astrology thing I'd like to share is the long talk that Pam Oh, my gosh, Pam, Pam, Pam. She's an astrologist. She gave about the coming years ahead and the coalescing of all the cycles. We'll put it in the links with this show episode. It was really fantastic, even though I can't quite remember her surname in this red hot second.

[00:15:35.810] - Lori
Astrologist, I follow Sabrina Lynn from Rewilding for Women. I love her take on it. She's very practical with her advice, so she's got a massive following. Jump over if you want to see a great astrologer. She's very regular with her posts. Evan Nathaniel Grim is also another Instagram astrologer. They're basically the ones... There's a heap out there, but they're the two that I default to, and they always seem to be spot on.

[00:16:03.460] - Helen
It's so magical how this card jumped out with the sole purpose card.

[00:16:08.620] - Lori
Yeah. These cards, and I shuffled them, so they're energetically flowing. I feel like this Because everything is connected, right? The spirit is showing us the way. Now we're getting cards that will lead into each other. It's just magical unfolding, really, right here on this couch.

[00:16:26.290] - Helen
We promise. That's how you get in the flow with the universe.

[00:16:28.980] - Lori
Yeah.

[00:16:29.740] - Helen
Keep listening. Keep sharing the podcast. Tell someone about it.

[00:16:34.690] - Lori
Go look up your astrology and get the heads up if you want. It doesn't matter. If you don't want it, don't take it. Take it or leave it. There's no rules on this. But if you're drawn to it, it can be part of the journey. It's part of the fun. So till next time.

[00:16:52.420] - Helen
Bye for now.
