You get to choose your thoughts, or do you?

If you’ve been in the self help book section, then you know the adage that everyone has a choice……..but if you don’t know your options do you really have a choice?  I don’t think you do.

The thing is......what and where are your choices.  Is this where affirmations and focussing on the glass-half-full come in......?  Now, don't get me wrong, it's always beneficial to look on the positives of a situation and look for things that make your feel good.  ....but not if it means you're ignoring your emotions.

What I mean by that is if you are so determined to focus only on the good, but inside you're feeling worried, frustrated, angry, scared, or emotionally hurt in any way then this isn't actually beneficial to you.  This isn't the choice that is truly available to you.   This is the mistake that many have made.

I made this mistake too.  I know how detrimental it is and that's what motivates me to write about it.

It's also why fear based marketing, fear based media and fear based organisational/governmental control is so effective.  Because once we feel fear we have far less ability to know our true options.  If we can only see or know the options that are fear based then that's what we'll choose.

It makes it very easy to get a large population of people to behave predictably - just have them in a state of fear, then they'll perceive that they only have a very small number of options to choose from and they'll choose accordingly.  They don't even realise that they're being manipulated.

Ignoring your emotional sensitivity diminishes your spiritual strength.

The subtlety for people interested in developing their spiritual strength is this:  looking at the positive of the situation whilst feeling emotional pain means you are focussed on the material, physical aspects of life whilst ignoring your emotional sensitivity.  This isn't real choice.

The real choice is knowing that you can live life from the perspective that everything is material and you don't have access to spirit OR you can live life by knowing that whilst everything appears to be material you can also feel that there is more to life than meets the eye, and that more is your spiritual self.

Your spiritual self is always there for you, always with you, always guiding you and your indication of this is your emotions.  That's why your emotions are so important.  That's why nurturing your emotional sensitivity builds your spiritual strength and gives you access to your own spiritual guidance.

The beginning steps to being able to access real choice is to become sensitive to your emotions in a non-judgemental and accepting way, and to build a healthy relationship between your physical experience and your spiritual self.   Then you can choose whether you place your focus on just the physical situation or the inherent value within the situation in a way that’s powerful, true, aligned and authentic.

If you believe or feel that there is more to life than meets the eye, then you're mostly likely willing to be introduced to the spiritual part of you that gives you true choice in practical, real life way (not woo-woo, not psychological and not mystical).

Give yourself true choice and re ignite your power to create the life you want to live.
